UAE and Nigeria, who blinks first?

 In International diplomacy, the name

of the game is Mosaic reciprocity.

A few examples will suffice. You know Americans look big, talk big and act big.

Their cars are big and guzzle fuel. But Americans are realistic. There came a time when Americans voted against their cars in favour of fuel Economical Japanese cars.

In droves General Motors of America started laying off their employees who in turn went around burning Japanese cars in sight.

To avert chaos, the American government banned Japanese cars from coming into America.

In turn the smart Japanese did not ban American cars from coming into Japan. No but all the same they gave the Americans a bitter pill to swallow. They restricted all goods coming into Japan from America to only one port. Imagine all flights from UK entering Nigeria only through Calabar Air Port?

Another example was the boycott of the Moscow 1980 Olympics by the US and Russia paying back by boycotting the Los Angeles Olympics.

Today, the UAE have cancelled all flights coming into Dubai from Nigeria. They are hurting. The good thing is that they are hopeful of an amicable resolution because they have asked all ticket holders to hold their peace.

In the end the Tit for Tat between Nigeria and the UAE resulting from Covid-19 protocols would be resolved and lessons learnt by not only both sides but all sides to the matter.

Even in the modern era among states the Law of Moses still rules.
