Dave Umahi, the South East deserves more than four years

If the South South can get Nigeria's Presidency by agitating, the South East

should not be treated differently.

Chairman of South East Governors' forum, says the South East should be given a chance for four years. I say, this is the kind of talk that breeds confusion.

By zoning, South East deserves a shot at the Presidency not as a favour but as of right.

Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chinua Achebe, Emeka Anyaoku and Peter Obi are all South Easterners, where these three, came from, there are more.

I recall IBB telling the UN that making an African UN Secretary General is not a favour but a right of Africans. Koffi Annan and Bhutrus Ghali have since proved that Africa is capable.

For the South East to produce the next Nigerian President should not be seen as an act of charity but a right that can further cement our nationhood.

Talking of four years can breed confusion. The Constitution allows two terms of 4 years each.

That was what OBJ did and it is what PMB is doing. The South East deserves no less.

  1. Exactly. But what I also feel is that before we can even start talking about 8 years, let's even have the first four years first, then we can talk about second term if well-deserving later.

    1. Bros, if we believe in zoning, it has to be 8 years either the same party or another party but the same zone.
