Christmas without palliatives

Have you noticed the absence of palliatives in the celebrations of this

Christmas?

Surprisingly, the numerous rice schemes across the land did not yield any cheap rice. Remember, Lake Rice? Is the Lake dry?

Recall the times when South East Governors used to compete to provide free transport to convey their people home for Christmas?

What has changed?

It is either they are scared to show their Igboness for political reasons or they are broke?

Let us examine the first reason. Note that .Bola Ige lost his life, about this time in 2001, because he resigned from PDP to pursue a Yoruba agenda. His killers are yet to be found.

Are the governors so broke that they cannot foot the bill for free buses? Even the Federal Government is broke. Do not blame the eastern governors. Moreover, Elections are around the corner and no one wants to be caught napping.

Whatever happened to all the rice projects announced with fanfare in the recent past?

If not that there is no such report, I would have attributed the lack to Covid-19 or what else do you expect me to assume?

This is the time of giving and Governments are not giving. Something must be definitely wrong. But whatever it is must be less than the power of God, So I hope it ends soon.
