Ebun Olu Adegboruwa and the lessons of fate

Human Rights Lawyer and SAN, Ebun Olu Adegboruwa, was a protege of Late

Chief Gani Fawahenmi, SAN.

Like Gani Fawahenmi, he never tires of taking on the Government, whichever, whenever.

Interestingly, today, what he went through hell pursuing has fallen onto his laps.

Ebun Olu Adegboruwa, went through hell fighting the Lagos State Government, over the Toll gate on the Lekki Epe Expressway. The battle was fierce.

He fought gamely and almost got assassinated, all to no avail. He lost gallantly.

Like they say, he who fights and runs away, will live to fight another day. Ebun Olu Adegboruwa, fought and retreated.

One thing led to another and #ENDSars happened. The toll gate was the metaphor for the evil of 20th October 2020.

Many were killed and their corpses carted away. The narrative changed. Even CNN doubted the veracity of their own story but good enough, the truth is being revealed.

The Toll gate has since #ENDSars not been functioning and can you believe it? Call it fate if you like and on the #ENDSars panel is non other than Ebun Olu Adegboruwa.

What he fought to get has been thrust upon his laps by fate.

I wonder how he must have felt when he was nominated and I wonder why him?

Well trust Government, they know how to give a poisoned chalice but it is interesting to see how and what he would make of it.

Will he seize the opportunity to get from thebackdoor, what he could not get in the open?

Meanwhile, the Toll gate remains closed and the operators, whether tongue in cheek or not, claimed, they did not know how much they made daily from the Toll gate.

In the absence of receipts, it could have been easy to believe them but everyone knows they issue receipts, except perhaps, the receipts were fake, but if you believe that, then you can believe anything.

  1. Well done with your report bro.
It was this same Ebunolu Adegboruwa that took the Lagos State Government to court on the monthly Environmental Sanitation and won when the court Court ruled that the Government lacks the power to compel the Lagosians to stay at home for 3 hours every last Saturday if the month.
He was the President of the OAU,Ile Ife Students' Union in the early 90s while I was the Secretary General.
He's really the chip of the old block by following our mentor,Chief Gani Fawehinmi(SAM,SAN) legacies.
More power to the people's lawyer's elbow!
    Solidarity!
