In sympathy with BAT

Yorubas have a saying that an ingrate is like a robber. PMB unrepentantly,

repeatedly stood aloof with his tiny Congress for Progressive Change contending for Nigeria's Presidency.

How it happened I do not know but suddenly, another small party Action Congress of Nigeria teamed up with Congress for Progressive Change and voila, a bigger party was born.

On this platform, PMB actualized his dream of ruling Nigeria again. PMB is Fulani and you wonder if he has a common heritage with the cattle herdsmen you see in your neighborhood?

Wonder no more. The answer is Yes. Unlike the average Southerner who believes that Obi can move from being a boy to becoming a master, it is not so with the Fulanis.

Everyone has his state in life. The pauper and the privileged. On the ladder, PMB is up and the herdsmen are down but make no mistake, it is the same ladder and the same strategy from Usman Dan Fodio to date.

The agenda is to conquer with the help of Islam. While not fully believing, I joined those who prior to 2015 Elections thought the All Progressives Congress a religious party but now I know better.

I understand the Fulanis are full of guile. One of their most potent weapons is to masquerade with religious puritanism to takeover your leadership. It was used successfully in Northern Nigeria.

Pray what picture does Mr. Integrity parade? A religious puritan. He may have said that he belonged to nobody but indeed he is Fulani through and through.

There is no difference between the Fulani conquerors of yore and today. Their stock in trade remains subterfuge.

The greatest dummy Southerners were sold was the slogan - Say Baba. In the South it is Say Baba but in the North it was - Sai Baba.

Both may sound alike but that was the beginning of trickery. Sai baba means only Baba and in the South their hoodwinked fellow travellers were sounding the same not knowing that they had been sold a dummy.

The Northerners of Nigeria unapologetically know but only their own which reminds me of a local government Election in my state in my secondary school days.

My step grandma had voted for a candidate from her town explaining that the gods of her town would have felt offended if she had not voted for her townsman.

While such a behaviour is fast fading in the South, it is the same behaviour in northern Nigeria, no more no less.

Our biggest undoing in the South in our Political plurality. It makes us churn out low electoral figures.

The average Southerner in Nigeria likes his Independence but not so in the North. The average Northerner can kill for his belief and go with his leader but not so in the South, where two brothers can belong to different Political parties.

As a Southerner, I sympathize with BAT. While he was busy helping PMB upstage a tested Politician like Atiku, in the hope that it will be his route to power in 2023, today the southern plurality is being waved at him to quench his desire.

The mantra today is how many constituencies did you deliver to the party?

Is it a new phenomenon that while the hired hand is busy about his master's business, the children of the master would always be the master's business. So in effect the hired hand's job is the children of the master.

So who is up and who is down?

I bet that while the contents of the two bullion vans may have delivered winning votes in tiny dots of the South, more votes and less money would have come from the North on the back of Northern solidarity anchored on religion.

If I were BAT, I would support the South East to reclaim Nigeria from the North like Obj tried.

That way he would have paid the North back in their own coins. But will self allow BAT?
