The North should wake up

When northern Nigerians make pronouncements in respect of 2023

Elections, I shudder and wonder when they will wake up?

With goings on in the country, I wonder why they choose to play the Ostrich?

Nigeria has changed. This is no prophecy.

What the Northerners should be praying for is a safe landing. So am I too.

The days when they played God are over. What we have today is a situation of fissiparous tendencies all over the country including the north.

Those who seem not to bother are the previous Lords of the Manor in the north, the likes of El Rufai with their born to rule mentality.

Asking the US to help Nigeria is useless. The US will not lay down American bodies for us as our insincerity in respect of our insecurity is too obvious to miss.

What the US would most likely do is what consultants do: use your Watch to tell you the time.

The US will point out the fact that our soldiers may be Nigerian in name but not indeed.

They will ask the Nigerian authorities to explain why our soldiers are more active in the South than in the North, whereas there are more Security challenges in the North?

Asking the US for help cannot come gratis. If we know and want to act like we are financially challenged, a home grown solution is what we need.

The  north should wake up. Nigeria of today has been born of the misdeeds of the past to the point that now, everybody is wiser and ready for the real change. Usually, tyrants are the last to know when their victims choose to fight back.

That, today, is the situation with the northern Lords. The earlier they wake up, the better for us all.
