Point of Sales Machine and the gaping hole it portends

There is an urgent need for Point of Sales Machine to be looked into for the gap it represents in the fight against

money laundering and terrorism financing.

I am happy the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is concerned about the operators of Point of Sales Machines not doing Know Your Customer for their clients.

While addressing that is very much welcome, I hope it will take care  of associated crimes of this gap. I have read of Point of Sales Machines being used for robbery operation.

I have also heard of Point of Sales Machines being used by kidnappers. While these machines are becoming really popular to the Point of preference to the Automated Teller Machines, the danger they portend is grave and needs to be urgently addressed.

Perhaps all it will take is for Know Your Customer to be introduced into the transactions.

Of course people will complain but the good of society should override such complaints.
