2023 Presidential Elections and desperation
Chief Olu Falae
After reading the reason, the People's Democratic Party might zone their
presidency to the north, I laughed. The reasons are laughable.Placing it side by side with the claim by some people that Obj is an Igbo man, I saw the desperation of two individuals who are close but in two different parties.
No prizes for guessing right.
In the APC is BAT. And in the PDP is Atiku.
For my money, these are two individuals, I have a lot of respect for. They are entitled to their ambition but to pursue it to the point of desperation, is worrisome and raises fundamental questions.
One may not know it but these two are smooth operators and very charismatic. Their albatross is a common malaise of almost all Nigerian politicians and that is inordinate desire for wealth.
For all those who may want to talk of these two, the common put off is corruption trailing them and making them smell really bad.
For the sake of Atiku, PDP argues that should they zone the Presidency to the South, the APC will win. Even if the APC zones the Presidency to the South?
The only reason is that Atiku feels that should he miss out this time, he may never make it again.
The same thing with BAT. It is now or never.
Pray, how old is Joe Biden?
BAT and Atiku are politicians, I like but one thing a politician should know is ability to stick to principles even where it hurts.
To say OBJ is an Igbo man in defence of zoning the Presidency to the South West is to argue in vain. If OBJ is an Igbo man, is Olu Falae an Igbo man too?
Recall that the Presidential ticket was zoned to the South West in 1999 and both gladiators were from the South West. Perhaps, as at that time, it was not known that Obj is an Igbo man.
As for Atiku, he has switched between APC and PDP so many times for the same purpose.
His argument this time around is that since 1999, Southerners have been President longer than Northerners.
What a laughable excuse! After so many years of PMB, without any hope, we should experiment with Atiku.
For the sake of Equity, it is the turn of ndigbo.
