When a Government led by an ex army General negotiates with bandits
President Muhammad Buhari
Only God knows how far down the road to infamy, PMB is really prepared
to lead Nigeria.Students have once again been abducted from their school. The last time they were abducted from Katsina State, the home state of PMB, a no nosense ex army General, ransom had to be paid, to get the children back.
While Boko Haram has learnt to live with us or the other way round, the bandits are growing in infamy.
Kaduna State Governor had in a Freudian slip let it be known that the bandits were offered money to leave our shores but they refused.
Those who invited them ab initio ought to know how to send them packing but this now appears a forlorn hope.
When a sane Government chooses to do business with mercenaries, then the question of money becomes a recurring decimal.
The last time the bandits struck, they were paid to release their captives that being good business, it was only a question of time before they strike again.
This time again, negotiating and paying ransom will only give rise to another kidnapping. In no time, the bandits would split and a spliinter group may choose like Evans to be demanding settlement only in foreign currency.
