Nigerian Senate as a slow brake for a fast moving car

In the midst of the Herdsmen crisis and movements up and down, the  Nigerian Senate had promised a

hearing on the issue.

But like a slow brake on a fast car, the Senate is dilly dallying. The Herdsmen are seemingly capitulating.

Northern Governors are welcoming them back to the north. There are talks of Southerners relocating to the South.

It sounds logical except that issues are in the process being mixed up, that is why the Nigerian Senate after acting for a long time in denial ought to move faster on the matter of the crisis.

Like broken tongues, everybody is talking and no coherence both in the North and South. Meanwhile, delicate things are happening and I see some of them as a smokescreen for far more dangerous deeds.

It just behoves everyone to be ultra security conscious. Those whose job it is to secure us have far more important things to talk about like crypto currency, to be banned or unbanned.

Lekki Toll Gate to be opened or closed, APC revalidation of membership to be or not to be. FFK moving to APC or remaining in PDP.

Meanwhile, people are being killed in skirmishes with Herdsmen. Households are being displaced, many meanings inane and nasty are being read into them.

But to our leaders it is all about the next Elections, whether there is a clear leader for APC in Delta State or not, which Governors are defecting or not defecting.

If there is any lesson to be learnt from Covid - 19, it is that tomorrow is more than ever uncertain so plan for today and let tomorrow take care of itself.
