Lekki Toll Gate: when might could not be right

While the Lekki Toll Gate killings remain unresolved, the Government is

in a killer mood to enforce, the no protest, it has put in place.

Need I remind the Government that no one person or group has a monopoly of violence. Time, there was when no one thought, the #EndSARS protest was possible.

For those who were fortunate to watch the dehumanizing treatment meted out to Sergeant Doe, Muamar Ghadaffi and Saddam Hussein, might is not always right.

No sooner will a hunter become the hunted. Those in power today, had better learn from history lest they let the history of the rise and fall of despots repeat itself on them.

For the records, the blood of the nobodies who were mowed down by our inglorious police and army is crying for Justice.

Those at the helm of affairs cannot care less. They are battle ready against defenceless citizens, whose demand is a right to be heard.

Zik, Awo and Sardauna have wielded power and now, they are no more. All that remains of them is their legacies of which they are in no position to do anything.

They are lucky to be no more. What do you say of people who have tasted power like IBB, OBJ and PMB and have little or nothing to show for their stewardship and daily they are lamenting their failures and daily they are reading and hearing what people think of them and they cannot do anything about it.

Lagos State is losing money at the Toll Gate. The same consideration that pushed them into mass murder at the Toll Gate. The same consideration that is pushing them into the present power show.

Sad indeed. Human lives less than money. What a sad choice.
