#EndSARS, PDP and APC

The history of Nigerian Democracy will forever include #EndSARS. It was about ending Police brutality but for the first

time, the Youths spoke and the Government listened.

The #EndSARS protest was an ample opportunity for a new set of Nigerian leaders to emerge but the opportunity went a begging.

If anything, the protests showed the weakness of our parties. The ruling All Progressives Congress was confused and had no coherent response. Even the army took charge of the damage control and failed. The People's Democratic Party was even less effusive in their criticisms.

Make no mistake about it, a clear message emerged from the response, the irrelevance of the present elites.

So far, there is a lacuna. The two leading parties know it, hence they are squabbling. They need not to.

When the Elections approach, the picture will become so clear that only those with a new game plan would be relevant.

Those who are jostling for positions now are living in fools paradise. There is a clear and present danger of a civil war but politicians, instead of seeking solutions are fighting for office.

How convenient? Is it not when there is peace that Elections can hold? For now, the big parties are experiencing in -fighting. They should keep their gun powder dry.

The unity, peace and tranquility of the entity they are planning to manage is at stake. Their primary focus should be on finding solutions lest the hands that provide solution steal the thunder from them.

As they fight to put their parties in shape for elective offices, they should think more of winning the confidence of the youths who feel betrayed by their style of leadership without accountability.
