Professor Babagana Umara Zulum's false records of insecurity
Professor Babagana Umara Zulum
Borno State Governor
The Governor of Borno State has lately joined the League of Professors that give Nigerian education a bad name. Being a
Professor is no mean feat but when a professor chooses to dance naked in the market place, you cannot but pity his hapless students.Thank God that this professor unlike the ones who were fumbling with election results on national Television is for now holding court not in any University but in the terror hit state of Borno.
Having survived some assassination attempts, he still has the audacity to declare PMB's record on security as better from available records. What records?
Governor Zulum is well below retirement age being fifty one years old, so he could not be reeling from old age.
It can only be politics as he is of the APC stock. APC came to power on the back of the strong anti corruption sentiments of PMB.
Today both the APC and PMB have acquired an unintended notoriety. This notoriety is traceable to lies of APC and nepotism by PMB.
Professor Zulum's available records showing PMB's better performance in terms of security is nothing but a figment of his imagination.
He may not know it, but all the goodwill he had accumulated from.tbe rough deal he had been getting from Boko Haram and his tough talk indicting security agencies for complicity in the sweeping insecurity in Borno State nay the entire North Eastern Nigeria just evaporated with his phantom records.
I pity Professor Zulum for I know it is not flesh and blood that made him say what he said but like Sanwo Olu of Lagos State, forces beyond his control must have made him make such a demeaning statement.
Where are his bravado of the immediate past? I bet his lecturers, students and classmates would by now be lost for words. Even his die hard supporters are equally speechless.
It is politics where people change like the weather and friends today may be adversaries tomorrow. But if a professor loses his integrity, where lies his honour?
Thank you very much sir, for your observation. Professor Zulum is someone I have always respected but this, coming from him, is an absolute disgrace to his personality. As you have rightly said, we can only pity him. Forces beyond his control are at work.
