Like Malami, like Sagay

Professor Itse Sagay

Chairman Presidential Advisory Committee against corruption

Time there was when Professor Itse Sagay was a veritable voice against oppression

but since teaming up with PMB, he has been sounding like a broken record.

To please his pay master, the Eminent professor has sided with Attorney General Malami to say that the National Assembly lacks the powers to summon the Nigerian President.

I doubt if Sagay's students in University of Benin or any other University for that matter ever heard him share such a view as a Law teacher.

This is why it is always good to look before leaping. I doubt if Sagay looked well before joining the APC government. He, I believe must have thought he was going to serve an honourable man.

Sagay says he sides with Malami. His reason is that the British parliament cannot summon the Queen.

I believe, Prof is thinking of the frail Queen and not the ceremonial head of state of the United Kingdom.

Sagay knows but he may pretend not to know that an Executive President has more powers than the ceremonial Queen who is a titular head.

To whom much is given, much should be expected. The Queen knows her limits and dares not exceed them lest the books be thrown at her.

PMB can be impeached by the National Assembly and if they go ahead and impeach him, a thousand Sagays will not and cannot save him.

If he is scared of being heckled then it is a sign that he cannot stand the heat in the kitchen, therefore he should throw in the towel  and let those who are fitter face the heat.
