Counted Audited Clean and Counted Audited Dirty

CAC for Counted Audited Clean marked for circulation and CAD for Counted Audited

Dirty, for destruction. And so like the Holy Books say, what is hidden shall be revealed.

It is interesting how fairy tales turn true. The above is another testimony to how a system is abused first in our imagination and then in reality.

It is about dirty Naira notes for destruction and clean Naira notes for circulation being swapped to make some people rich.

Imagine working in a Mint. Many will imagine Notes would be stolen there. And many will say there are controls.

Of course controls there will always be but so too will be loopholes.

This brings to mind the story of an Eminent Nigerian Lawyer of Blessed memory who drafted a Bill for the National Assembly and when the same Bill was challenged in Court by a State, the same Lawyer who drafted the Bill was the one they gave the brief and he accepted.

Of course he was in a better position than any other person to know the loopholes in the Bill.

Of course the then Senate President as head of the National Assembly would have none of that.

Today it is about how two brothers one working in a top Commercial bank and the other working in the Central Bank ended up stealing about N40m through CAC and CAD and burning the Bullion Van conveying the money, to cover their tracks.

In this, about two glaring crimes were committed in Kano State. One is Arson and the other is Theft but what does the Police think?

The Police is thinking settlement after the brother's conspired to substitute dirty notes for clean notes and burning the evidence to avoid detection.

The premise of the Police is that the brothers have agreed to return the money. The question arises as to the motive of the Police?

Is it in their interest, Justice or society?
