Sanwo - Olu: Executive Governor, Lagos State
The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the EndSARS protests and Lekki Shootings are in the eye of the storm.
For a start, on camera and live on Television, Channel Television's Olu Philips, the same journalist who reported the election violence at Okota, Lagos during the 2019 elections, reported the Lekki shootings.
First Sanwo - Olu reported that powers outside his control sent the soldiers that went to the Toll gate.
Next, the Army deny being at the scene of the shooting. Next Sanwo - Olu goes on fact finding after disputing the number of casualties and claims that one died and later two died.
Next the army say, they were there on the orders of Sanwo - Olu, the Lagos State Governor, who said that powers beyond his control ordered the shooting.
Next the army say, they cannot be summoned by the panel of inquiry but only by the Governor.
Next, Lekki Construction Company, the company in charge of the Toll gate announce that they have Close Circuit Television Recording of the Toll gate, but conveniently, the CCTV stopped recording before the shooting commenced.
By the way, the Lights at the Toll gate were switched off unusually and CCTV cameras removed.
Everything points at a premeditated shooting. From the Governor's double speak to the denial by the Army and the refusal of PMB to acknowledge the event in his speech.
For daring to lead a protest, stranger things are happening. One the protest is unknown to law, so says the Counsel to Lagos State Government, perhaps because it was not registered at CAC.
Next accounts are being frozen by the CBN that is yet to identify the sponsors of Book Haram. Not done yet, people are being prevented from travelling outside the country for taking part in the protest.
Well power is never gotten on a platter of Gold but the reactionary tactics of the fading guard is at best laughable.
Denials have been the philosophy of any oppressive and dictatorial governments, simply because they are blind about the consequences of evil and the reward thereof.
ReplyDeleteBut one thing is certain, they can never be in rulership for along time. The golden rule stands,do to others what you want them do to you.
I hope they learn
