When representatives are too busy to represent their people

Many a time, it is said that those, who have ears to hear should listen. The

protests turned to Riots and Stealing with Arson.

The question is, how did we get here? The answer to the question is the greatest lesson of the protests.

How did we get here? No jobs for our youths. Ruling with impunity.

Ostentatious display of wealth. To rub salt on injury, those armed to fight crime are criminalising everyone in sight, with impunity.

For too long have voices been raised without anyone ready to listen.

The peoples representatives were too busy to listen to the people. Pray, what is more important than listening to those they are paid to represent?

Can you imagine, a servant telling his master that he is too busy to attend to him? What else is the servant paid to do than to attend to his master?

I recall, the case of a past elected Executive Chairman of a local government who complained that his constituents were always coming to disturb him instead of allowing him to work. Indeed.

I imagine that when he was campaigning, he had access to the people but having been elected, he no longer had time to attend to them.

Of such an attitude are riots made.
