Policemen are happy about Endsars

One of the benefits of the ongoing Endsars protests is the revelations that are coming out. An anonymous police

man has come out to express joy at what is happening.

He says the SARS men and police men attached to VIPs are making a kill while the other policemen are dying in silence.

For long it has always been said as a rumour that policemen in the field make returns to their superiors in the office. 

It even becomes more Scarry when he paints the whole Police Force as a huge extortion mechanism. He wondered why the Police that had tailoring department no longer sewed their uniforms but now rely on contractors.

Not surprisingly, changing of Police Uniform became a huge revenue source for the Police top brass.

There is a culture in the Police, money never trickles down in the Police but only moves up.

What this means is that never expect a Policeman to share money with his subordinate. But rather send money to the senior through the junior.

To get his own share the  junior Policeman gets from the public or his own juniors.

I wonder if this strange culture is not responsible for poor budgetary performance in the Police. I see Police vans drive into filling stations for fuel.

I often wonder where the money for the fuel comes from. The Police I understand, used to have fuel dumps, whatever happened to them?

The whole Police force reeks of corruption and is in dire need of reforms. How this can be done is a mystery but I am consoled by the revelations.

In a world of division of labour where it is believed that a problem shared is half solved, at least this knowledge gives the public a better view of what the Police is. Having so known, at least expectations can be tempered and outcomes less shocking.
