#EndSARS: One protest, many theories
This year, 2020 is indeed a year to remember. First, it was Covid-19 and
now it is protests.
For the first time in the history of Nigeria, we have a protest with Northern and Southern dimensions. It is significant that just like when Sai in Hausa ruled the airwaves in the North, in the South it was Say. Thus we had Sai Baba in the North and Say Baba in the South, same sound, different meanings.
Sai in Hausa means Only, thus only Baba and in the South it is Say Baba.
Now with regard to the protests, in the South, it is #EndSARS but in the North it is ProSARS.
Some may see it as Democracy but in truth, it is division.
The same protest in Lagos is said to be sponsored by BAT, hence the Lekki Toll gate was blocked. Not done yet, BAT loses money on the blockade of the Toll gate and hence orders Soldiers to open fire on unarmed Youths.
If it is Tinubu in Lagos, is it Tinubu in Edo State? Who sponsored that of Aba and Abuja?
To answer that, enter another theory: Some governors have been fingered by Security report to be behind the protests. Allegedly, they are led by Kogi State Governor, Yaya Bello.
To what end, you may wonder? To weaken PMB, so that he will not be able to have a say in who succeeds him, thus paving the way for the governors to pick one of their own, as his successor.
Within these options may lie the truth or not at all, but one thing is clear, some politicians would never remain the same, after all said and done.
Chief among them is PMB, followed by BAT and Peter Obi.
PMB for the senseless shooting at the Lekki, Lagos, Toll gate. After all, he is Commander In Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces and Governor Sanwo Olu of Lagos State, has said that forces beyond their control gave the order for the shooting but who gave the order for putting off the CCTV cameras and putting off lights at the Toll gate?
BAT for his many links and the personal losses: TVC, The Nation Newspaper and Oriental hotel. Could it be his own 'Otoge'?
Peter Obi for the link to Awkuzu SARS. Surprisingly, to speak for him, was MASSOB.
The protests may have been sponsored but their effects would for long be remembered.
