Governor Ngige and his Godfather Chris Uba

Chris Ngige

To think that the current Nigerian Minister of Labour and Employment is a medical Practitioner proves that the hood does not make the monk.
He does not come across as a modern Doctor but more like a trade unionist.
Over time I have had some close contact with politicians and some of the experience, have been surprising.
One of them was on an election day and the venue of the election had been locked.
A member of one of the contesting parties scaled the fence of the locked venue and his party local government Chairman did not bat an eyelid but rather proceeded to excuse the behaviour on the grounds that the man had no choice since the gate was locked.
For crying out loud, what compelling reason made the man do it?
Even our Legislators had been caught on Camera climbing a fence to gain access to their chambers.
If the foregoing did not shock you, surely the case of Governor Ngige and his Godfather, Chris Uba should get you thinking.
Chris Uba

As the story went Chris Uba a member of the Board of Trustees of Peoples Democratic Party, sponsored Governor Ngige in the 2003 Elections in Anambra State, South East, Nigeria.
Not only did Ngige agree that Uba sponsored him but both signed an agreement which Ngige refused to honour.
Surprisingly, the Nigerian police stood by and watched Uba force Governor Ngige to honour the agreement ceding control in the award of contracts  to him.
Pictures were shown of Governor Ngige in a shrine, naked taking an oath in order not to repudiate the agreement.
As part of Chris Uba's strong measures to exact revenge, he got thugs to force Ngige who as Governor was the chief Security Officer of the state, to sign a resignation letter which was passed to the State Assembly.
The State Assembly members in an alliance with Chris Uba, knowing Ngige was coerced, still accepted the resignation.
What saved the day was that the Godfather in order to ensure his Investment in the Elections was not in vain had rigged the Elections. Based on the rigging, Ngige was sent packing by Peter Obi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
The above took part under the Watch of Obj. Yet Obj likes to come across as a Messiah.
