WHERE IS FESTUS KEYAMO?

Festus Keyamo

Festus Keyamo, 50, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Minister of State for Labourt and Employment, has done well for himself. A Lawyer, who cut his teeth under the ebullient Gani Fawehinmi was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth but through dint of hard work made quite a number of marks.
It is quite interesting that the people who fought for Nigeria's Independence were quite young but somehow, so far what they were able to achieve as young men is proving unattainable for those coming behind them.
Could it be the Economy, Education or where does one hang the blame? If the nationalist fighters could do it, what stops the successor generation?
Today, men of 70 are being named Youth Leaders of political parties. When will they come of age? Maybe, it is an attestation to an improved Life Expectancy rate.
When Gani Fawehinmi died, Festus Keyamo appeared poised to succeed him but so far, this has not been the case. Some may accuse him of turning Coat. But one thing Keyamo, who prefers being called Mister, in spite of his chieftaincy titles, has going for him, is that he does not shy away from controversy out of Government and in Government.
These days, Keyamo has been unduly quiet and I ask 'where is Festus Keyamo'?
